A catch up week for my Evie portraits…
I very rarely get to browse in the shops these days, and I had an opportunity last week to do just this – and boy, was it a treat!! I wanted to share some of the clothing and accessories that caught my eye that day.
I had such a great day.
What fashion and/or accessories have caught your eye lately?
Last week I was in a hurry to get to my hair appointment. I very stupidly backed out of my driveway too fast, and into a beautiful, black Audi – hard enough to make a serious dent in the front, right panel.
A few things went through my mind in the few moments following this…
1. ‘Oh F*CK!’, was the first one.
2. Then I repeated many times, ‘Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!’ – mostly because I do have a reversing beeper, that kicked in, but as I was travelling too fast, I didn’t react in time.
3. Then it occurred to me that no one saw me and that I could just keep going…pretend it never happened.
Except that it did.
And I was in the wrong.
And would have to own up to my very stupid and very expensive mistake.
4. So I very quickly hopped out of my car and wrote a note to pop the windscreen; ‘Please call me about your car on…blah blah blah….I’m SO sorry!’
I felt like an idiot all day as I waited for my phone to ring. Luckily it was a neighbour up the road, who was super lovely and told me not to stress too much. Mistakes happen, they said. And they do.
But this brings me to this week’s question…
If you damaged someone else’s car, and no one saw you do it, would you own up? Or would you keep on driving??
I would LOVE to hear from you all on this matter.
Once again, not technically a bake item, but yummy and healthy, so it’s ok. It’s also more of a winter meal, but who says you can’t eat it in the Summer?
I visited a cafe a few week’s ago and happily ordered the vegetable soup with Risoni. I was delighted when it came out and it tasted oh so yummy. I was then inspired to make my own and have since made it twice. Here’s how I did it.
Vegetable Soup with Risoni
4 pieces of bacon
2 sticks of celery
handful of green beans
tin of chopped tomatoes
4 cups of beef stock (I use the one already made up, in packet, as it has a far superior flavour)
2 potatoes – cut into small cubes
1/2 cup risoni pasta
Salt and pepper (to taste right at end)
Shaved parmesan & bread – to serve.
I wanted to make all the veggies very fine in texture, except for the potato, which I cut this into small cubes and added near the end.
The small cubes of potatoes were added ten minutes before the risoni pasta, which was added ten minutes before serving. I added fresh chopped parsley right at the end, and salt and pepper to taste.
Do you make veggie soup in the Summer? Do you have certain ingredients you ALWAYS put into a veggie soup?
